I have been attending a lot of green events this spring. A common inexpensive giveaway is a pencil. Since I’m becoming concerned about the number of disposable ink pens I toss, I am going to start using pencils for things that do not have to be permanent such as grocery lists, crosswords, etc. I have not used pencils since elementary school.
A benefit of pencils is that they disappear as you use them. When they are used up, only the eraser head remains.
Recent pencils I have received have been made from recycled denim and recycled money. The ones featured here are made of 30% post consumer waste products.
Let’s take a new look at pencils. They just are not for children any more.
These are flower pots made from recycled money and plastic (the green one) and recycled sawdust (the brown one).
